TUNA AND REEF FISHING

Our Tuna and Reef fishing package is dependant on where the fish are. We will normally find tuna at either Neptune Island, Wedge Island, Althorpe Island, Cape Border or Kangaroo Island. Once you have caught enough Tuna for the day we will go Reef fishing on one of the many offshore reef systems for the remainder of the day if you wish. We will  travel out wide to the untouched offshore reefs travelling at times 30 – 40 nautical miles offshore. These reef systems, due to being so far offshore are out of the reach of most trailer boats and offer the best chance to encounter some of the big boys as well as ensuring a good feed of quality table fish to bring home.

Packages are tailored around the individual group. Some people are happy for us to guide and help them catch their first fish, while others may be more experienced and would like to do everything themselves, and that’s fine. At Reel Action Charters we pride ourselves on catering to the individual, wether you want to troll, bottom bounce, live bait, jig or even salt water fly fish we are more than happy to accommodate every situation.

Included : All fishing tackle including quality rods and reels using 15kg mono line and trolling skirt lures for tuna, 50 pound braid for reef fishing. You are more than welcome to use your own gear if you prefer.

There is a daily catch limit of 6 tuna only per trip, or 2 tuna per person, with a maximum of 6 tuna per trip. With 8 people on board everyone catches tuna with any fish over six released to fight another day. The six tuna we keep are divided evenly over the eight people.

You get to keep all you catch and as always we are more than happy to jump in and help with the cleaning of the fish at no extra charge.

“For group bookings of less than eight people Reelaction will endeavour to fill the remaining spots to reach 8 people, but will run the trip at a minimum of 6 people.”
